Digital Explorations art of the future
The images here are from a series of experiments in combining several digital programs.This medium gives me a powerful voice. Only recently have I found the depth of resources to embark on digital imagery as a fine art. In the 80's I was responsible for bringing the first computer weather graphic to the local TV station where I was working. The experiment was a long way from art. The whole station had to be synchronized to an Apple II computer. The colors were few and fugitive. We only did it twice but it led us to purchase an expensive system for weather graphics. That system would look primitive compared to the basic system graphics programs we expect on todays computers.
For about 15 years I have been running a video bulletin board for the college of engineering at the University of Florida. Using a a wide variety of software to run up quick and dirty promotional panels for events on campus. From this I expanded into doing the web site for the unit I work for. The quality of pay remained the same with no observable relation to the quality of output. So I decided to please myself a bit and the results are displayed on this site.
In any event the work found here is something I do better than I do many things. If you have trouble discerning the meaning of these works, they must be deep. If on the other hand you just enjoy them you probably "get it". For those who want psychoanalysis, or philosophic discourse on the meaning of life, I have heard a theory that the meaning of life, the universe and everything is "42". For those who enjoy color and drama you're in luck.
